SURPRISE!

Darren and I are expecting our first baby! Of course, in keeping with Sharp tradition, he/she is expected to arrive in February - February 13 to be exact. A few days sooner or a few days later and there is a good chance the baby will sharing his/her birthday with someone!

As you may know we bought our first house in April and moved on May 21. We were wondering what to do with the spare bedroom, but I guess now we know! I guess those who were saying "new house = new baby" were right b/c the baby is literally our moving in present.

Here's a pre-pregnancy shot from the day we moved in...

Today, I am 10 weeks and one day. While a lot of people wait until after the first trimester to tell everyone, we were too excited to wait anymore (especially since we had our first sonogram on Tuesday). We drove back to PA this weekend and shared the news with the grandparents and whoever else we happened to run into. I think the grandparents will end up spreading the word faster than we ever could! hehe

The pregnancy was also getting hard to hide it since I've been battling really bad morning sickness for the past 4 weeks and people were getting suspicious. Whoever started calling it "morning sickness" obviously never dealt with someone like me before. I am sick ALL DAY LONG and almost every smell or sight of food makes me run for the toilet. I keep telling Darren that the baby is going to be a girl because there is a study that suggests women with really bad m/s usually have girls, but we'll see if that theory is correct! It could just be the hormones making my usual stomach problems worse. Either way, I'm really looking forward to August because the books say it usually starts to get better in the second trimester (around Weeks 12-14). However, my doctor said it can last until Week 20 or longer! I sure hope that isn't the case with me. I'm sure Darren is tired of taking care of me 24/7. :)

We haven't taken many pictures as I'm not showing too much yet. I think it just looks like I ate too many cupcakes or something.

Here's a pic from the 10 week sonogram... The doctor said everything is normal - baby was 2.31 cm and heart beat was 170...I'm hoping to keep this updated at least every week or so, so check back for more news!
